ABOUT J9

J9 was a nickname for Sonya’s late sister Jeanine, and the bar is in memory of her and Sonya’s parents. Her Dad bought this building in 1975, and her family watched the neighborhood change over the past 50 years. Watching the area change, Sonya longed for a neighborhood wine bar where she could meet friends for conversation and a good glass of wine.  Although Sonya no longer owns the property or business, we strive to keep the concept and memory alive in honor of her family and her vision.
